The Challenge

Finding an open parking spot is a universal frustration. Drivers waste time searching, and parking administrators often lack a clear, real-time picture of space availability, leading to inefficient use of valuable parking resources.

The need was for a smarter, more dynamic solution. One that could accurately see and report occupied versus empty spots instantly, providing clarity for both those managing the parking and those trying to park.

The Approach

We combined accessible hardware with sophisticated AI. A Raspberry Pi, paired with a high-resolution camera, served as the eyes of the system, constantly observing the parking area. The real intelligence lies in the custom-developed neural network running directly on the Pi.

This AI model was meticulously trained on vast datasets to distinguish occupied spots from empty ones under various conditions, processing the camera feed in real-time for minimal delay. To make this data useful, we built a clean, intuitive web interface that displays the live status of each parking space, easily accessible from any device.
